Hangleton Food Bank is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) since we may hold your information in electronic format. Such information is handled in accordance with UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025). Please see the privacy notice in the appendix below for details on how your data is managed and how you can exercise your right to lodge a formal data protection complaint directly with the food bank.

Digital records are stored in password-protected documents on password-protected devices.

How to Complain : Please submit your data protection concern in writing via email. Please include your name, contact information and a clear description of your concern.
Timeline
We will formally acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 30 days.
We will investigate the matter, make appropriate enquiries, and keep you informed of progress without undue delay.
We will notify you you of the final of the investigation as soon as it concludes.
Escalation to the ICO
If you are not satisfied with our response, or you believe your data protection rights have been infringed, you retain the right to escalate your complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). The ICO will typically expect you to have raised the issue with us directly through this process first.
